ABOUT US

The Traveller’s Inn – affectionately known by locals as “The Fours” – is a striking white country pub proudly standing on the A629 at the crossroads of four roads in the heart of the countryside. Steeped in history, this iconic building has welcomed guests since the 1800s and, for the past decade, has been lovingly run by landlords Jack and Ruth, whose passion for hospitality shines through in every detail.

Step inside and discover a warm, welcoming atmosphere paired with an outstanding drinks selection. From perfectly kept cask ales and an ever-changing range of premium lagers to refreshing ciders, classic Guinness and John Smith’s, every pint is served with pride. Wine and spirit lovers are equally spoilt, with carefully selected quality labels and an extensive gin collection featuring exciting new flavours to tempt even the most seasoned gin enthusiasts. The Traveller’s also caters brilliantly for modern tastes, offering an impressive choice of gluten-free and alcohol-free drinks.

Food at The Traveller’s is all about quality, freshness, and supporting the local farming community. As a true rural pub, sourcing local produce is at the heart of everything they do. Much of the meat, sausages, vegetables, eggs, milk, and potatoes come from farms right on the doorstep, ensuring every dish is packed with flavour and authenticity.

In the kitchen, a talented and passionate team create delicious, imaginative pub food with something for everyone to enjoy. Alongside much-loved classics, the ever-changing specials board keeps both chefs and customers inspired, offering exciting seasonal dishes and creative new flavours. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-conscious diners are all thoughtfully catered for, making every visit stress-free and satisfying.

Even four-legged visitors are treated like VIPs. Dogs are always welcome, and the popular “Doggie Dinner” – available in both small and large portions – ensures furry friends never feel left out.

The Traveller’s also understands that not everyone wants a huge meal, which is why the extensive small appetite menu is perfect for children, teenagers, older guests, or anyone looking for a lighter option without compromising on quality.

Set within stunning rural surroundings, The Traveller’s Inn is the ideal destination for walkers, cyclists, bikers, families, and dog lovers alike. Outside, guests can relax in the superb sun-soaked beer garden, complete with stylish and comfortable booths, while children enjoy the large play area and open grassy spaces. Whether you’re stopping for a quick drink, a hearty meal, or a long afternoon in the sunshine, The Traveller’s offers the perfect country pub experience.
